Ripon Consolidated Fire District was called out to Caswell Memorial State Park on Saturday for reports of two missing rafters last seen entering the river in the camping grounds of the park. Rescue personnel arrived at the park shortly after 6:30 PM and was briefed by the park rangers and members of the family. According to reports, the rafters had entered the water around 5:00 PM and had not been seen since. Rescuers were able to make contact with the two adults that were missing by telephone, however, do to cell service inside the park, communication was limited. Ripon Consolidated Fire District launched their two kayaks as well as the departments Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and begin searching for the adults downstream. After more than 3 hours of searching along the river, rescue personnel was able to locate the missing rafters and transport them back to Caswell State Park. Neither of the missing adults was injured.
